5th Dan Sensei Tony Hughes - Chief instructor

Combat Jujitsu North was started by Tony Hughes, as an extension of Combat Jujitsu Wales. Sensei Tony has been training in martial arts for many years and has a wealth of experience and knowledge to offer all who wish to learn.

 

Jeff Evans3rd Dan Sensei Jeff Evans Personally trained with Kancho Ray Wonnacott for over twenty years and training partner to Sensei Tony Hughes for ten years. Currently Chief Instructor of Combat Jujitsu Wales. Completed courses with Carlos Valente 10 times world Brazilian JuJitsu champion and US Navy Seal team insructor. Personally attended seminars hosted by Geoff Thompson renowned Martial Artist, doorman and author. Completed a number of private courses with SAS members.Trained with Nottinghamshire and South Wales Police forces in their Control and Restraint techniques and is an experienced detention officer.Certified Senior Instructor and Examiner in Jujitsu.1st Aid Qualified and Defibrilator trained. Experienced presentor of martial art related subjects, modern day weapons, guns, knives, baseball bats, pick axe handles, street fighing etc.

 

Norman Heffernan2nd Dan Sensei Norman Heffernan Personally trained with Kancho Ray Wonnacott for the past ten years. Been the training partner of Sensei Mike Bagley for all of that time. Previously I trained with Portsmouth Kyu shin Do judo/jujitsu club for 4 years achieving the grade 1st kyu. Personally attended seminars hosted by Marco Ruas, former Vale Tudo champion. Also attended seminar with Carlos Valente, 5th Dan Brazilian jujitsu, being certified Blue belt following the seminar. Other courses have included knife defences, short stick, baseball bats and pickaxe handles. Hosted by Kancho Ray Wonnacott and Sensei Jeff Evans. Currently interested in utilizing and adapting other weapon forms such as Jo staff, Tonfa, Nunchaku and Kubotan into and alongside Jujitsu.

 

Mike Bagley2nd Sensei Mike Bagley Personally trained with Kancho Ray Wonnacott since 1998. During this time a partner to Sensei Norman Heffernan. Currently holding a 2nd dan working towards 3rd dan. Personally attended various seminars hosted by Kancho Ray Wonnacott and Jeff Evans. Also completed two day course with Carlos Valente, Brazilian Ju-jitsu Black Belt. Becoming certified as blue belt after seminar.Seminars attended are knife, stick, baseball bat, pick axe handles, escapes defence and grappling techniques. Currently interested in adapting and utilizing techniques and methods of striking from other martial arts into Jujitsu.
